We've been married for over 20 years and photographing together for the same amount of time.
That's why our professional duo is called Lumen Duo, which means «Two Lights» in Latin.

Meet Igor Sakharov, one of Russia’s most respected commercial photographers.
What sets Igor apart? He is the only photographer in Russia to hold the elite «MASTER» category from the Federation of European Photographers (FEP). His expertise is recognized internationally: he serves as a judge for Russia at the World PhotoCup and has earned a Silver Medal in the «Portrait» category with the Russian team. Among his top accolades are the title «Best Photographer of the Year» (FEP) and the «Golden Camera» award for portraiture.
In practice, Igor’s mastery shows in his precise, deliberate use of light. He is widely known in Russia as the go‑to specialist for the most challenging studio lighting setups — turning technical complexity into artistic expression.
Meet Lana Petrova — a photographer who paints with light and motion.
Lana is a European‑certified photographer by the Federation of European Photographers (FEP), a mark of her commitment to the highest professional standards. She’s earned top recognition in her field: named Best Equine Photographer of the Year at the international «EquiPhoto» contest and ranked among the top ten photographers worldwide by Rosfoto magazine.
Working in the style of photo‑impressionism, Lana doesn’t just capture moments — she shapes new visual languages. Since 2000, she’s been actively creating, competing, and pushing the boundaries of photography, racking up multiple contest wins along the way. As a practicing photographer, educator, and curator, she not only develops her own projects but also supports the work of her peers, helping to build a broader artistic community.
In 2022, Lana developed her own unique shooting technique to bring her impressionistic vision to life. It’s a personal approach born from experimentation — a testament to her drive to explore and innovate.
Today, she literally paints with her camera. Her ongoing quest is to translate the subtle moods of nature, the dance of light, and the poetry of colour into images that feel alive. Every frame is an attempt to capture not just a scene, but its emotion.
